Kansas City

I was in Kansas City, MO and Lawrence, KS recently. I had no expectations of what I would find. Some people here in New England call the middle of the country fly over territory and that’s fine…I’ll keep it for myself – in fact some people I met in Lawrence told me to tell friends at home that it was flat, boring and culturally barren – exactly the opposite of what I experienced there. I was delighted by the lovely people, the good food, the vivacious embrace of life and the stunning beauty of the landscape….

I loved Kansas City – especially the west side, and the Cross-Roads arts district.  My stay at the Jefferson House on the west side with Peter and Theresa was restful and rejuvenating (even with a 2 hour thunderstorm) and James Brown even did a cover of a song about Kansas City…. What more convincing do you need?
