I loved spending time in Lawrence, Kansas. Having my internal clock a time zone ahead, I walked everywhere in the early morning, discovered the farmer’s market (with amazing Tamales!) and spent time next to the rushing Kansas river. I also had an opportunity to spend some time at the University of Kansas native medicinal plant gardens on campus and at their field research station. It’s great work that they are doing there, and the people involved with the program that I met are truly dedicated to understanding these plants and restoring them in their native habitats.
