Paintings inspired by ice at Provisions all December

I’ve been making paintings of ice this past year –  abstractions from thumbnails and watercolors I drew over the freezing cold winter last year. There were certain formations consisting of hundreds of bubbles that I fell in love with and took many photos of and consequently that’s proven to be my inspiration. There’s something to the collection of spheres en-mass that makes me think of a visual manifestation of the creative process – the swirling maze of water and air together gathering and bursting out at critical points and junctures. Typically, that’s something rare to witness, let alone photograph, but somehow it happened, and I am grateful.

I’ll be showing these pieces at Provisions in Northampton all this month. Come by and say hello on December 12th, from 5-7pm. Provisions – 30 Crafts Avenue –  Northampton, MA
